Google uses code.google.com to publish its free source codes and API services. API is a set of functions which a programmer could use to extent program’s functionality without access to the original code. The site is divided into following categories:
- Site Navigation Links: This could be used to get more specific information about Google APIs, Event Calendar, Open Source, Google Code, Search, Google Code FAQ.
- Website Enhancer: This section lists tools which allows users to use Google tools with advanced features in order to enhance their websites. One of them is Google webmaster tool optimize user’s site coverage in the search engines.
- Reach Google Users: It lists tools that enables users/programmers to work on features of Google products. One could write plugin with Google SDK to search more file types with Google Desktop.
- Google Integration: It list tools that allow programmers to integrate their programs/tools/services with that of Google. For example users could use Google Adwords API to manage adwords account manually.
- Featured products: This column list some of the interesting programs contributed by users for free use.
