Google site: operator and supplemental results

In the above two searches using the site: operator,
I have seen the Google is only counting the urls in the main index and not considering the supplemental results as a count.

Yahoo, Google, Ask.com highlights keywords in Cache but not Live.com

You get the results, now go to cache link of the result and you will find the keyword getting highlighted on the page.
